What a GREAT Deal...

After that inspiring quiz located below, I felt a desire to prove my frugality by hitting the Albertson's sale. After being depressed last week when Negan and Neon* bought hundreds of boxes of Kellogg's cereal (oh Cinnamon Streusel Mini-Wheats! rarely on sale!) and didn't even tell me in time, I had a renewed desire to replenish our always-diminishing cereal reserves.

Fast-forward to last night. Kids playing at the park, baby crying in Dad's arms, it was time to hit the store before the busy weekend sale-nazis came and took everything but the nasty Golden Crisps and Chocolate Honeycomb (really gross, btw).

Here is my stash. All Kraft Products on this 8 for 12 sale. I couldn't be boring and get just cereal, so I threw in some mayo and cookies. Oh, I didn't show my capri-sun. It's in the fridge. I was sad they didn't have HBof Oats w/almonds, but such is life.

You can't feel bad buying sales items. More importantly, you can't feel bad buying FOOD STORAGE. Thank heavens I keep all my candy purchases under that important category.

Thanks for protecting my identity. I must admit that buying cheap cereal is really great until you realize that you are forcing yourself to eat it. I am getting a little tired of mini-wheats since they were the only ones left. and Neon says you can't have the cinamon streusel since he likes it as his bedtime snack.

When I go to Alb. I'll be stocking up on the Waffle Crisp--that is if my neighbor didn't already get it all. That stuff is the best!!

Darn it! They were out of Waffle Crisp. BD went with our next door guy neighbor shopping tonight...a little weird yes. They just happened to sit by each other in P. Session and both had to go to Alb. together so why not go together? They agreed to meet each other after checkout. Had to buy fruity pebbles instead (neighbor guy bought a whole case) also strawberries and swedish fish (that's for megz)

The honey bunches of oats will be around for an eternity, I guarantee. Thankfully, they expire in 2009 sometime. Maybe my good Honey can find some recipes that use large quantities of it.

We did get a bunch of cream of wheat that I love when it's cooked right, and I have to prove to my frugal wife that it was a good purchase by eating it sometimes. I just struggle with it--cooking it just right. It gets real clumpy if you don't do things perfectly. Who knew that one tbsp of white powder could go so far?

Laura, that is funny about Brandon and his bud shopping together. Does he tend to impulse buy?
We didn't have Waffle Crisp either. I do like its sugary goodness on occasion.

Russell, we go through honey bunches of oats really fast so if you don't want to eat them you can smuggle them to my house. I can't buy them fast enough. Waffle Crisp is a Sunday favorite and sometimes disappears from the storage room on other days if I'm not looking. I can't really remember when I last went to Albertsons. Negan and Neon don't keep me informed on sales either.

I must have missed this sale circular! The last two times they had awesome deals on cereal we stocked up on dollar a box cereal and even Cinnamon Toast Crunch got old after awhile... Maybe I'll have to see what's left. Hint (from the frugal me): go on the last day of the sale... that's when they're always out and they will give you a rain check, then you can go back and get the good stuff for the good price without fighting off ladies with heavy handbags for the last box of Waffle Crisp.

Good advice Tonya. This week they have 10 for 15 General Mills, and I always have coupons from the Sunday paper for additional $ off. Wow, we are going to be STOCKED up on cereal after this week!
