Ice cream on the porch

I am a big fan of Ben and Jerry's. It is $$, but I figure since we don't go out much then buying it on sale provides an experience worth money. And baby, it delivers. I usually like Light Phish Food, which is a bit healthier and doesn't taste different than the full-20 grams per serving regular portions. But I found a new favorite. CHUBBY HUBBY. Out of all the ice creams out there, this is number 2 on the most fattening list. (I found that online). I usually only like chocolate based ice-cream, but this one is vanilla malt ice cream with fudge pretzels (add the salty sweet combo!), fudge ripples and peanut butter. I like my ice cream chunky and interesting!

Anyway, if you'd like to share your summer treat please do!

When was the last time you did an ice cream post? Nice to know that you have consistent themes....
As I said on your last ice cream entry, we like slurpees and all things related. And my special ice cream for when the kids are in bed is still a chocolate base with brownie in it. Can be Dreyer's or Kroeger. Just has to have those brownie chunks.

No- that was FAMILY TREATS, not self-treats. Totally different Megan. Glad my posts are so memorable!

I just bought a whole container of reduced fat vanilla for myself since the kids and hubby has lovely gourmet ice cream bars/sandwiches/cones that are all chocolatey... of course, the reduced fat is out the window when I decide to crush up those frosted animal cookies and make it more interesting.

If I'm really being honest - my favorite is White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie Dough Crescendo ice cream which used to be made by Safeway - and now I crave it uselessly because not only do we not have a Safeway here, they don't even make it anymore! TCBY has a good Fro-Yo substitute though... of course, no TCBY in my town :(

Hey megz, go easy. Our life is simple. Our pleasures are simple. Maybe on some days the ice cream we eat is that day's pinnacle of luxury. So maybe Cocoa'll write about ice cream tomorrow.

I got reduced fat chocolate fudge brownie for my treat, and I liked it.

Hey super-sensitive CC and Rut---I was not being critical of all the ice cream posts, just noting them. I thought it was like a test to see who really was the most observant reader. And I think I won. Sheesh, next time I'll pretend like all references to ice cream are the first.

Tonya-mmmmmm...that sounds good! Though it would be better in a brown chocolate-base. Macey's here surprisingly has good frozen yogurt machines. Key-Lime, Root Beer, Vanilla Bean...soft-serve fro yo is good! And of course, Maverick.
This is a very important topic!

CHUBBY HUBBY is the BEST!! Do they make a light version of that? No, that wouldn't be right. Besides it's worth the calories, ain't it?
B&J sure got it right with the mix of sweet-n-salty-n-chunky. It's like mining for treasures when you take off the lid.

Snelgroves Burnt Almond Fudge. I think it had 23 grams of fat per tablespoon, but so worth it, but so not available anymore. Dreyers bought Snelgroves and politely phased that line out. Next up--Dryers Cookies & Cream.

umm I still like vanilla with chocolate syrup stirred by hand to just the right gooeyness. I never was in to chunks.

Dreyer's bought Snelgroves? That is too bad. I like their chocolate cookies 'n cream (American Idol promoted) and their Thin Mint but they only stock them a few months of the year. A bit lame.
