The last of fall fun? Say it ain't so!

As soon as the first trick or treaters were spotted at about 5:00, Anika was begging me to go...and I'm really anti-begging. I prefer beating around the bush over begging. We held off until 5:30 just so I could be the boss. As a parent, you've got to stick to your guns even if sometimes you don't know quite why.

I really feel bad for Russell who was working at home Friday, because we had a lot of faux-leaf fight fun for the camera he missed out on, along with some really good walks in the perfect weather. I really like being the parent that plays in the leaves and takes pictures and enjoys the cute moments.

We have a serious leaf-falling problem. It came on this week and now that it's cold I really don't want to rake. But it is so cool to look out the window and see the yellow trees and yellow ground.
Russell fed Sam some spaghetti today. I'm wondering if he just let Sam go at it and stick his face in the plate? The spoon-mouth-swoop-wipe is an art that only few have mastered I suppose. Anyhow, Sam is looking quite pleased with himself.

Leaves, pictures, good old fashion fun - love it! Sam looks great in orange.

we always miss out on the leafy fun - until Spring... for some reason our Oak tree doesn't lose its leaves until the new buds force them off...

We'll hope that there are some leaves left at Thanksgiving time... and no icky snow covering it all up!

I love the fall pictures. hasn't this been the best fall ever?

Fortunately for you, Cocoa, your husband enjoys picking up leaves with the lawn mower and making soil for the garden with them. That's why your garden performed so exquisitely well this year (not). Plus, the kidlings just love the huge piles...

5:00 was too early for trick or treating anyway. I'm glad you got to be the boss, but 5:00 is a little unreasonable.

Stephanie, this has been the best fall ever...

Poor Sammy. We know you kept his face dirty for hours because it was so cute to look at.
We held off until 6:00 to go trick or treating. That way our kids could tell all the earlier trick or treaters that you should eat dinner before going. Also, I think my kids think it's supposed to be dark before you can go. The extended daylight savings thing really messed things up.

I love pictures of the kids playing in the leaves but I am not a fan of raking and bagging them either. I wish they were biodegradable.

The spaghetti face is a big hit! Those are my favorite...when they just dig right in and can't quite get enough. That's how I feel sometimes!!

I like to rake and bag leaves as long as it isn't too cold. I'm a cold whimp. If it's only a little cold then I know I'll warm up with all of that raking. Our trees produce a lot of leaves that somehow stay in our yard even if it's windy. Good pictures!
