*Confidential* email from junkie husband

We got hot cocoa from my boss today. It had 4 candy canes in it.

I ate the 4 candy canes this morning.

I just ate a packet of hot cocoa powder because I wanted something sweet.

I don’t care where I get it. I just want it.

This is true desperation. And it's from the guy who owns a candy machine at work that dispenses M&M's and Hot Tamales with a twist of a key! Granted, they are a little stale, but free and easily accessible. Well, scratch that last part. They are in a different building. Who wants to have to exercise in order to get their fix?

Though I may mock and scoff and mock some more; truth be told, I married someone just like me. I remember a time of making my own string cheese with melted mozzarella and then reshaping it into a log (?!); melting chocolate chips with peanut butter to try and imitate Reese's, and mixing lots of sugar with a dry Kool-Aid packet to make homemade Pixie Stix, aka cavity inducers.

What have you done in a desperate moment to satiate those darn cravings?

well.... It is funny you just posted this because I have been trying to talk myself out of a trip uptown for some chocolate! i have been craving for a few hours now.

One time, I melted sugar, caro syrup and peanutbutter and poured them over the honey bunches of oats. delicious!! solved the peanut butter craving and sugar craving!!!!!!!

To eat a dry packet of hot chocolate!!! And reshaping cheese into 'logs' doesn't sound like a treat to me! You made my prego belly heave.
Does Russell need some old Halloween candy in his desk drawer for those emergencies? I have plenty of dum dums left....

My sugar cravings are normally sated pretty simply - but my sweet/salty cravings go MUCH deeper... I've been known to top saltines with strawberry jam - but that doesn't quite work, I'll usually break down and run to get a PayDay bar if I want it that bad!

Mine is a state of shame and embarrassment. How could anyone post such private communications to the world?

Man, I could sure go with a bag of Sixlets right now...

BD keeps Peanut m&m's in his desk at all times.
At home we have what we call poor man's o'henry: a handful of peanuts, and choc. or butterscotch chips, or both. Eat all together. yum.
my friend's mom always kept a bag of marshmallows in the cupboard for her sugar fix. it works in desperate times.

At least you tried to be creative. I just ate chocolate chips straight from the bag, and the whole bag too! I also enjoyed real butter. Mom would keep it on a plate in the cupboard where I would proceed with spoon in hand and eat the entire stick! I also loved spoonfuls of straight sugar. I wish I could do that now...

I remember making odd concoctions on new years but I don't remember them turning out very tasty! I liked the confession. I was just preparing for Christmas by dividing out candy. Guess who gets the ones that don't divide out evenly:)
