What we do in the long cold evenings..

Winter is the time of fun hops. One of the best toys we've gotten for our kids! Great inside energy outlet. Good for hitting, jumping on, kicking, throwing...and the occasional bouncing. Laughter is more prevalent than tears, which is always a good sign. I wish they made fun hops for adults! Instead, we've got exercise balls, which aren't so bad, just not quite as fun. Besides the exercises you do on them, we have also used ours to bounce on with fussy newborns. Great tip! ....anyway..

here are the hard workers doing their sit-ups:
Lately, the kids just want to exercise with their balls in front of our DVD at any time of day. Don't be fooled though; their attention span for following the video: 10 minutes and declining each time that dvd plays. However, after those few minutes of bouncing bun lifts and "seeing that girl's bum" (followed by raucous mocking laughter) comes their true workout.

Looks like fun, I have been wanting one of those exercise balls. Your house looks so fun, did you make the playhouse?

I was going to be amazed that they were little core secrets gurus at their ages - but yeah, watching it just to laugh at "that girls' bum" - that seems more like it :)

That actually looks like a lot of fun and if they are just going to watch TV they might as well so some exercising! I want to know why there isn't any pictures of you doing it with them? :)

This is proof to me that what the kids see Mommy do faithfully, they are much more likely to do themselves.

Given that, how will we ever get them to eat their veggies?

haha Rut!
I was wondering how your girls have those six packs already. Now we know!
Totally agree on the adult version of the hoppers. We should hurry and start our own ebay business selling them.

Aren't we all getting a little stir crazy. Those bouncy balls are a great solution.

hahaha... That's funny. I love it. That's what I should be doing right now instead blogging.

Uggghh. Thanks for reminding me that I need to work out! My couch is so comfy though...

I might have to give that a try. I keep my exercise ball in hiding to avoid damage or breaking something in the house...but at this point I am willing to try anything!
