We got somethin' you want

Are your kids acting hyper? Has Spring Fever seeped into your household, finding no place to drain excess energy and excitement? Are your kids feeling pent up from being inside the days that aren't so Spring-like, leaving them angry and more prone to boredom and fighting?

Well...here is your answer to your problems. Send them over to my house to enjoy some child-taming germs we've got goin' on.

We've got something you might like...here are the pros:

  • not having to get up and do the carpool thing
  • more chances to see your kids throughout the night, each time an extra treat
  • very likely less toys to pick up, less crumbs to sweep
  • you can turn down the heat and cuddle up to your super-toasty child
  • your children will just sit there in front of the tv, quiet and entertained (well- I guess that is not such a departure from any other day)
  • extra quiet in the day as they slumber!
Cons of this bug? Well, I don't advise it on children under 2. It's too hard to re-sleep-train babies. And the ear infection thing. And the clingy-thing. Sweet, but not really.

While I'm being honest, I am a parent who goes to the internet at first sign of a symptom to diagnose. Anyone else? I've gotten myself sick worrying about all sorts of weird diseases and illnesses. I often think I should have married a Dr. so he could put my hypochondria to rest. Luckily I married a computer doctor so that's a close second.

I have to admit to getting great joy out of my kids' sick days (as long as it's the sleepy kind of sick and not the barfy kind...)

Being able to brush off all other pseudo responsibilities with a "sorry, I've got sick kids" is just so liberating... AND I get a snuggle out of non-snugglers!

You're too funny, Erin. Just make sure they're not faking it to skip school!

I agree with Tonya. sleepy sick good! barfy sick bad!!!

thanks for the invitation of germ sharing but I think we will try and pass on that one.
I hope nights of peace and sleepful bliss return shortly.

I've never seen our youngest daughter in such a state as last night--delirious, scared, and definitely not herself.

I do enjoy the coziness and peace, but...

I want my kids back!

Oh so sad! My little one has had a runny, stuffy nose for a week! I've run the battery dead on my electric booger sucker (ya, we're high tech when it comes to snot!) Hopefully they will be back to their hyper-active selfs soon...

Those days hit us all through the month of February...hope they are over!

I hate trying to analyze every symptom of every sick child. And sometimes that internet does a lot more harm than good so maybe your computer doctor can disable some of the scarier diagnosing sites.
I'm sure they will be back to being spazzy and working on their exercise balls in no time.

How sad, my kids have been sick too. Natalie missed school Monday and it was the first time all year. We made it all winter and only had one illness take over our house during Christmas break, I thought we had made it!! I was wrong. I always end up searching the internet when my kids are sick, I try not to because it makes me crazy, but I just can't help myself...I do the same thing when I'm pregnant. Being a mom makes you crazy!

I always think worst-case scenario when it comes to illness: stomach ache? oh no what if it's an appendicitis, or a tumor?! I wish I WAS a Dr. so I could check their ears myself and call in some Rx for infections for those infections.
Hope your kids return to their happy selves soon!

Sorry you've had sick one's at your house. I actually do love it when Adri is sick - you know how wild that child can be - but when it lasts for more that a couple of days I get a little stressed and worried! Hopefully all will be well soon.

We've just got the bad cold, tired (grumpy) sick over here -- though Dan threw in an achy ear one day. Surely we'll all be well soon!
