Just enjoying my Spring

It has been an awesome Spring. We get the run of the gamut this time of year. Flying kites in the wind, washing the car with the rain, one last (hopefully) jaunt in the snow, being outside all day in perfect temperatures only to endure frigid cold the next day, it's all a part of moody Spring. And I like it. I have weather ADD. If it's rainy for too long, sunny for too long, or snowy for too long, I get a little bored. I'm one of those people who actually like talking about weather, not just because it's a safe small-talk topic. How I'd love sitting down with Mark and Kevin Eubank. If you don't know who those cool guys are, then you need to google them. Mysteries are so easy to solve with Google. Speaking of mysteries, I have always wanted to do one of those group Mystery Murder Nights. Has anyone done that? It'd have to be with people I know really well, though. If we did it with a random group I think I'd be afraid that someone in the party really was a psycho-in-waiting and just using the guise of the game to finally play out their murderous desires.
I took this picture with Sam in the baby bjorn as an admirable reference to the Best Buy commercial with the guy holding the man-dude in his baby carrier. I thought that commercial was funny. Just the idea of that hairy man being held like that walking down the grocery aisle is right up my humor alley. Plus I relate well- I use the BB faithfully the first 4 months of my children's lives. I'm like a kangaroo. So it was a fond moment to pull out the carrier and try it on Big Grumpy Clingy Boy (ear infection strikes again!). Sam is 15 months and 20 lbs, and yeah, it wasn't quite as comfortable as the days when he was half this size. Plus, if you can see, he didn't quite take to it.

Hi! I have now invaded your blog. :) I have to say that I am a fair weather girl myself - I just like sunny and warm, with an occasional rainy day - but, a warm rain. I do think it would be fun to have a conversation with the Eubanks and try on their white coats!
Email me your email address and I will send you an invite to my blog: jro76@yahoo.com

I had a knock off baby bjorn--made by jeep. I used to to carry Stockton while I mowed the lawn. It was a sad day when he went to get it this season and he had exceeded the weight limit by almost 10 pounds!

I must be overstuffing my little one. Deac is 7 months and 20 lbs!! Yikes. Tried to use my version the BB the other day but it was not quite as nice as yours. It doesn't have leg holes! And yes, I would die (!) to go to murder mystery dinner!!

Thank our lucky stars that little Sam actually slept last night--I think Cocoa may have had 2 consecutive hours of sleep!

Spring makes me feel alive. I love how any warmish weather brings the entire neighborhood out. Old friendships rekindled. Start out talking about the weather, end on "how many kids you planning on having?"

Where to start...we did a few murder mysteries before we had kids and could participate in events that took more than an hour or two to finish. Fun only if you get into it w/ costumes and everything.

I too laughed out loud at the commercial with the man in the front pack. Loved it.
I only pull out the BB in the most dire of situations. It's just a pain still to bend over or cook or do anything with precious cargo in the way. I'd almost rather have them screaming in the bouncy.

The weather guy on the news channel I watch out here is a U of U alumni. He even brought a Ute basketball jersey to the set and showed everyone his team spirit. I keep hoping he can magically bring some warmer Utah weather out here...

you plan a family murder mystery party and I'll come - I'll even dress up and get into the spirit of it! (but happy to leave the planning to you - looks like Melissa is willing to play the dead body!)

Never used a BB/snuggli/similar thing... though they looked mighty handy! That commercial is funny though!

I love my BB too! Too bad I only bought it for my last baby. My other kids killed my shoulders in those cheapy kind. I haven's put mine on for quite a while now. I guess it's out of style now that my baby can ride a bike!! Ha Ha!

A murder mystery would be fun! but there are members of my own family I would be nervous to invite( if you know what I mean)

I am sort of with you in the spring! I don't mind the rain and the occasional wind so we can break out the kites. But cold I can simply just do without.

LOL...I have done, one of those murder mystery date nights. You gotta have a group that is ALL willing to participate...my husband was not part of the ALL!

Nice picture, that commercial is too funny!

It's good to know that if you're discussing weather with me it's not just a superficial subject but one dear to your heart :)I'd be okay with sunny skies and 70 degree San Diego weather every day!

BD and I went to a murder/mystery dinner a few years ago put on by a traveling theatre group. It would be fun to do a family one! I'm not a great actress though...I'd look guilty from the start.

A long time ago, I did one of those mystery dinner date things and it was AWESOME! We should get a bunch of neighbors and do one! :) By the way, it was so nice visiting with you at the park the other day. Sometimes I get feeling pretty lonely at home, so being able to chat the other day - while enjoying the sunshine - was wonderful! :) Thanks!
