In memory of post #2

Back in the old days of 2008 when I started my blog, I had issues to discuss. I am a little sad I have departed from my insightful commentaries on various consumer products, or politics, or world news. Well, with the exception of the last two mentioned, my blog was a source of strength for my many reader. Her name being Megz. Going back I realized how succinct I was, how I didn't just go on and on for paragraphs. I miss the old me.

With that old post in mind, I wanted to give an update. Secret deodorant being the issue at hand. I didn't even post a picture back in those days of newbieness, so I made sure to not be lacking in that area today. If I were one of those bloggers, I would even show my armpit, perhaps with a little stubble (of course I don't have stubble ever!) as I apply the Secret. But I'm not going to do that for you.

So here's what happened. Secret did some random consumer research online, found my blog, saw my dismay at their change in formula, and after a year switched it back! So now I am finally back to wearing Secret Unscented. I tried several other flavors of deodorant, and I have been disgusted from the smells emanating from my armpits ever since. I am not a smelly person (i'm pretty sure), and I don't sweat excessively. So with that in mind, how can any sane person desire a wet-sweat-tainted version of Watermelon Sunset coming from the top two corners of their body? I don't want to smell my pits at any point in the day. No Baby Powder Unfresh, no Fusty Flamingo, and please no Tropical Breaking Wind. Not only do people get a whiff of you as you walk by, but you have to smell yourself all day long. And that is just something I can't handle. I love me a good perfume or lotion or spray, but mixed with body sweat just doesn't quite have the right zest, you know?

So my question is, how do you people out there that wear scented versions of deodorant defend yourselves? I am almost of the mind that you should go au-naturel- body-smell before you go scented.

But credit where credit is due. Thank you Secret, for taking the scent out of your Unscented once again. You heard my voice and I will once again pay 10 bucks a year to your company. Gracias.

Welcome back! I miss your posts. I've always been a scented girl myself. I've never had a problem with BO scented sweat. I currently use Dove (some ginger/waterlily scent). It's quite wonderful! It's a nice burst of yumminess on an otherwise disgustingly sweaty day. Now if they would only bring their facewash back...

Wow, good for you for stating your opinion and making a difference!

I am obsessed with smelling good. Since I work in extremely close proximity to other people (i.e., I'm in their face all day), I very much appreciate people who take the time to apply scented products. Too much is gross, but most people will have a subtle scent that makes my job all the more pleasant.

I prefer powder scented deoderants, but I am quite partial to Secret's Kuku Coco Butter Invisible Solid. It smells amazing and it works very well.

Here's my beef with deoderants: I hate solids, invisible solids, gels, etc. I want roll-on only. I had my underarms lasered and I hate having that gummy buildup that solids leave. I want the light, thin residue of a roll-on. But do you think anyone bothers to make roll-ons anymore? It's almost impossible to find them. Why can't manufacturers make all their scents available in a roll-on too?

Why must everything be so difficult when it comes to beauty products???

P.S. Is it weird that I always have a slight B.O. smell in my right pit, but my left pit never smells bad? Yeah, I think that's weird. Gotta love the human body.

I too miss the days where I was your only commenter.
I am a diehard scented deodorant woman because I just don't believe you can really have no scent. Where is the science in that? May as well throw some fun watermelon smell to mask any other smell is what I say. Then add your lotions and perfumes and hair products and you becoming a walking tropical garden.
I could go on but I'm not very comfortable talking about armpits.

Oh Erin, you crack me up! I have never tried Secret. I am in a monogamous consumership with Degree -Invisible - Powder Fresh. It is not over powering and lives up to it's claims.
Thanks for the laugh!

Back in college days I was on a
hot double date and one of the guys said, "Are you wearing Teen Spirit tropical?" At that embarrassing moment I realized I don't want deodorant smells emanating from my pits ever!
What is it with deodorant scents?? Is is so you can smell your deodorant working?
I am glad to know Secret has put there's back out there because unscented is hard to find!
Props to my fellow unscented wearer! I'm currently unscented and proud of it.
Could you next review a product called Pit Putty--it's deodorant without all the chemicals.

Erin you really do crack me up!!! Thanks for the fun post and I have to say that I agree with you, I don't want to smell like baby powder or flowers either, especially under my arms.
