Downsizing

What's up with everything going so small these days? First it was my cereal. Then my ice cream. I can't even buy Dreyer's any more it is so munchkin! Might as well just buy Ben and Jerry's- better taste, same size. I can kind of understand those two, with rising prices of wheat and cream. But what's up with my Barbie friend here? I didn't know plastic costs were rising too! Is this the attempt at a "more real" Barbie? She does have bigger feet. Sorry about the nakedness. I should write to Mattel and have them make spandex clothes with a little wiggle room so little hands can actually dress Barbie without adult help. Aren't they supposed to have focus groups or something for testing before they sell the toys?

Next we've got my handsome little buddy. Megz was so kind to Livs this year for her bday. She got her the coolest extensions from the dollar store! Good thing Olivia isn't home or she'd be ticked.

Yes, I have engaged in my own personal (albeit futile) boycott of those new stubby Dreyer's cartons. But now the other brands are joining in with the 1.5 quart size. So annoying! I feel like they thought we weren't going to notice or something, so I find it a little insulting. It's something of a victory for me when I can find an older 1.75 quart carton.

Long Live Ben & Jerry's. Small and dense, and I'm pretty sure the "light" version is actually good for you.

Couldn't you have thrown a washcloth or something on the nekked barbie? I've got kids over here and the filter didn't block this entry.
Sammy looks adorable. But who doesn't look good in hot pink hair, seriously??

Obviously it's been awhile since we've purchased a new Barbie... that one looks decidedly skipper-sized! (do they even make those anymore... am I dating myself?)

I should be annoyed with everything getting smaller, but all I've noticed was the cereal - the cheapo ice cream that we buy hasn't succumbed to the pressure yet... that or they just can't afford to change all their packaging!

I didn't know about the smaller barbies?
One thing I think should be downsized in America is cars--then we'll always have plenty of garage space.
The last time we went to Wendy's it seemed like they had shrunk their dollar menu

Barbies should really come with permanent painted on leotards or something. They are rarely dressed. We just don't have any anymore (unless the girls have olds ones in their closets). I love the picture with the hair extensions. Tia wants some so she can match her cousin.

Hey old neighbors, I saw a comment you left on Nikki's blog (her husband is my cousin) and linked to your blog from hers, hope you don't mind. I can't believe how big your kids are getting, and you have a little boy too, we have a new little one too. Check out how our family is doing at http://marshallpartyof.blogspot.com
